LOT CONTROL
v Lot Control allow us to track the inventory in our
warehouse and group items based on expiration date, batch, and/or date of entry
or exit from the warehouse.
Lot has two types of Uniqueness
Ø None -
If it is None, we can't use same Lot number in the same Organization.
Ø Across -
If it is Across, we can't use same Lot number in the entire Operating unit.
Lot
can be defined at three levels
Ø At
Organization level
Ø At
Item level
Ø User
defined
Generation: At Organization level
To
setup Lot control go to
Inventory -> Setup ->
Organization -> Parameters
Here
go to Revision, Lot, Serial and LPN tab
then select Uniqueness and Generation and save
If you select generation as at org level then it asks for the Prefix to enter then it will become the prefix for the entire Organization
Now we can
create an item
NAV-> inventory responsibility-> item->
Master item
Give the lot control: Full control and assign the child org and save the screen
Now let’s
perform the Transaction
NAV-> Transactions-> Miscellaneous

Give the details as shown below
Now we need
to click on the generate Lot tab and we get the lot number and give the
quantity how much we want for that lot number and click on Done tab
Then SAVE THE SCREEN
Now we need
to check the on-hand quantity
NAV-> on hand quantity-> on hand quantity
Enable the Detailed check box and give the item then click on the FIND tab

inventory tab when we give Lot control as Full control, then we can see that starting
Prefix and starting Number field becomes Mandatory
